Maybe with You? I primed and painted, distressed this violin in Cottage White, the mosaic is sealed, - it's looks have drastically improved.

This violin is meticulously mosaic-ed with the most beautiful, hand cut china plate rim mosaic tiles. Cascading lush blooms and roses on some of my favorite vintage bone china/porcelain dinner and breakfast plates were cut into a very beautiful mosaic tesserae to cover this violin; mosaic tiles from Royal Albert and others. The hour glass "waist line" on this violin is embellished with a focal and surrounding tiles. The violin is filled in with white, pink and pale pink stained Glass tiles.

All china plates used here are in very subtle shades. The strings on this beautiful art piece are a set of pale green pearls. The tail piece is accented with handmade clay roses and some bling. This is a gift that everyone likes to receive, music lover and others alike.

I finished this violin with a very light antique white colored grout to give it even more charm and a finished look. This vintage violin was rescued from a thrift store, unplayable, it's curtain calls long gone...but - finally! For a festive center piece and those spots that need a little shining, a dazzling handmade mosaic has been applied to this violin. A master piece transcended...what a gift for the right person. Handmade Mosaic Wall Mirror,broken, cut china plate rims and stained glass Mosaic Wall Mirror. Vintage Refinished, Shabby Cottage Chic handmade Mosaic Distressed Wall Mirror. WOW !

 Look at this shabby cottage beach-y wall mirror, OOAK I mosaic-ed it with some of my favorite bone china, cut, broken porcelain plate rims, stained glass; hand crafted art. The mirror frame itself is a off white color, the Frame looks Gesso and is vintage, slightly showing a bit of wear, a distressed shabby look. As with all vintage, the show of wear is what makes it charming. A bunch of matching handmade Clay Roses perch at the top. The rectangular mirror is enhanced by an edge of ivory pearls around the mosaic to make this mirror even more stand out. The Shabby romance of vintage and well loved does show here, encompassed in vintage, broken china mosaic looks so very graceful. Hardware for hanging is already attached for either vertically or horizontal hanging.
Measurements are: 28" wide x 22" tall

I used only already damaged china and porcelain plates to create this item! For your entry way, Patio, any room in the home, Garden or Deck. Place on a dresser or table, or hang it on the wall to show off your beautiful room. Hang it in a slightly darker spot in your room and it will immediately lighten it up with it’s reflection. White frame distressed, a delightful wall decor to beautify your home, it will catch the attention of friends and family alike.

Handmade Mosaic made from cut vintage fine bone china plate rims with a glass tile nipper....enhanced with all pastel colored stained glass, grouted sealed and viola. A precious piece of Wall Art.

The hardware is attached to hang it either horizontal or vertical.

EXPLANATION OF how I create my art:
If you are wondering "just why is this piece so expensive?", here's the scoop:
The substrates (violins, tables, trays, sets) are not something I purchased at a store. They are actually vintage and not cheap.
I purchase the primer and paint, the fine bone china plates, the stained glass, the gems, the mirror, the grout, the glue and the sealer.
I hand cut each piece of fine Bone china plates, stained glass and mirror. I do not break it by stomping on them or hitting them with a hammer. I use special nippers and glass cutters for cutting the bone china plates/stained glass into precise small pieces.
I hand place and glue each piece into place. In some cases, I have to re-cut and trim the pieces to fit the them. Although it may look like these pieces are randomly placed, they are not.

After all the cutting and gluing is done (about 1 to 2 month), I hand mixed the grout and apply it to the substrate. When it has cured a bit, I wipe the excess off with a wet sponge. This process usually takes a while and is very messy. Once done, I allow the piece to dry completely. Sometimes I have more then one site on a substrate and have to do this process over again. When everything is dry, I buff the grout film off of the china plate mosaic/stained glass so it would sparkle.

When the grouting is complete, the piece is sealed which takes an additional 72 hours. Then I glue the additional pretties and baubles on there. In all, I probably spent 1 to 3 month on a Mosaic piece, depending on what type and substrate I am working on.

My very first Mosaic Table

I found this old Queen Ann Table at a flea market just crying out to be saved. From the looks of it,
it seem to have been a TV table/Stand, as there was a drawer look like pull down behind it was room for a VCR. It was old! I purchased and carried my treasure home.

First, a little sanding, I primed, and painted in a cottage pink Semi Gloss paint.

Hmm...it looked boring- I took a sponge and did a "wash treatment" on it with Gold and Silver Paint, sealed it and I was happy.

Then I started to mosaic the table top, so many, many beautiful rose china plates I cut and nipped just so
to fit perfectly. The Mosaic then was grouted and sealed. "Tadahhh"...a perfect piece, in my eyes anyway.
