Secret Christmas Gifts

Whooo Hoooo I am finally allowed to share what a "fantabulous" Secret Santa I had.
I feel so blessed to be the recipient of these fabulous gifts from Roxanne of http://www.etsy.com/shop/watercolorsNmore

Let's start with the whole package...isn't gorgeous! So lovely wrapped and I am sure thoughtfully packed with the Recipient in mind.
Hmmmmmm...what to do, what to do, going for the green, no, going for gold. Like a true Olympian I went for the GOLD....Be still my heart! CHOCOLATE,    .............. immediately
had to "chomp" two of them... Who did that?!!
I then admired those beautiful Christmas Cards to think which one of my friends are worthy of them. I loved them so much, - but have been since-  send on and are admired by two of  my close friends.
Rox.... that was so exciting to unpack and drag it out a lil...
I then went for the lenghty Box and low and behold I am literally seeing PINK...PINK...(swoon)
I love PINK...it is a wonderfully crafted "beautimus" looking pink pendant on a white necklace...LOOK !!!!

Handmade, one of a kind, just for MOA !!!!! Rox I love, love my Jewelry...
I then went to the second box and what did I see, matching earrings, as if I am not blessed enough already. Here I have a matching SET ! A set, a set in PINK...I was so so excited. I love them...have another peek...

I thank my Secret Santa, Rox, ....for being so thoughtful in any way. My personality, my color preference, my love for dark chocolate and those "beautimus" Christmas Cards...Thank you, thank you so much...
I love ya my friend...I am bubbling over with joy and giggle a lot...

So there...I will wear them for the first time on my Birthday, the 26th of this month and show them off everywhere. Have a pink twin set and these will just "elegantabulous" enhance my attire.
Merry Christmas everyone, in HIS name...
Monika

BELIEVING IN ANGELS

This is a real experience recounted by a Friend and what happened to his family
by angelsneverlasting
God was sitting on his throne talking to Jesus and the Holy Spirit plus three of his Angels as he was looking down on earth. He saw that there was a women driving her car with her two children in it and he saw they were going to be in trouble. He immediately sent the three Angels down to earth. They arrived just in time, for the women had lost control of the car and it went airborne and rolled over three time . In the roll over the roof had caved in from the center to the passengers side on a 45 degree angle, where the younger daughter was in her seat with her seat belt on. As the car rolled over the window behind the driver was totally knocked out of the door leaving no glass around the door. As the car was rolling over the Angels now had taken over. The one Angel spread his wings around the girl to the right of the driver and said be not afraid, I’m here to protect you. And he did for this girl only had a few minor scratches with a little glass in her hair.

The other girl behind the driver had a little more work cut out for her Angel, because her seat belt had released, so he took her out through the broken window to about fifty feet from the car, so that it would not roll on here, and dropped her on the ground. She did sustain some injuries and was in intensive care for three days. The drivers Angel just covered her up so she had only minor injuries, making sure the roof did not collapse on her, seeing she is six feet tall. Yes, I do believe in Angels for this was my Daughter-in-law and my two Grandchildren. And when the Angels got back to Heaven God said, job well done. And yes, one more thing. If you saw the car you would not believe anyone could come out of it alive.

Lord we come to you with a repenting heart and song of praise and thanksgiving for all that you have done for us in having your Angels protecting us and in your suffering and dieing on the cross for our sins so that whosoever believes in you shall not parish but have everlasting life. Amen.

Found a perfectly fine explanation for Santa and Jesus....

I remember my first Christmas adventure with Grandma. I was just a kid.

I remember tearing across town on my bike to visit her on the day my big sister dropped the bomb: "There is no Santa Claus," she jeered. "Even dummies know that!"
My Grandma was not the gushy kind, never had been. I fled to her that day because I knew she would be straight with me. I knew Grandma always told the truth, and I knew that the truth always went down a whole lot easier when swallowed with one of her "world-famous" cinnamon buns. I knew they were world-famous, because Grandma said so. It had to be true.
Grandma was home, and the buns were still warm. Between bites, I told her everything. She was ready for me. "No Santa Claus?" she snorted...."Ridiculous! Don't believe it. That rumor has been going around for years, and it makes me mad, plain mad!! Now, put on your coat, and let's go."

"Go? Go where, Grandma?" I asked. I hadn't even finished my second world-famous cinnamon bun. "Where" turned out to be Kerby's General Store, the one store in town that had a little bit of just about everything. As we walked through its doors, Grandma handed me ten dollars. That was a bundle in those days. "Take this money," she said, "and buy something for someone who needs it. I'll wait for you in the car." Then she turned and walked out of Kerby's.

I was only eight years old. I'd often gone shopping with my mother, but never had I shopped for anything all by myself. The store seemed big and crowded, full of people scrambling to finish their Christmas shopping.
For a few moments I just stood there, confused, clutching that ten-dollar bill, wondering what to buy, and who on earth to buy it for.
I thought of everybody I knew: my family, my friends, my neighbors, the kids at school, the people who went to my church.

I was just about thought out, when I suddenly thought of Bobby Decker. He was a kid with bad breath and messy hair, and he sat right behind me in Mrs. Pollock's grade-two class. Bobby Decker didn't have a coat. I knew that because he never went out to recess during the winter. His mother always wrote a note, telling the teacher that he had a cough, but all we kids knew that Bobby Decker didn't have a cough; he didn't have a good coat. I fingered the ten-dollar bill with growing excitement. I would buy Bobby Decker a coat!
I settled on a red corduroy one that had a hood to it. It looked real warm, and he would like that.
"Is this a Christmas present for someone?" the lady behind the counter asked kindly, as I laid my ten dollars down. "Yes, ma'am," I replied shyly. "It's for Bobby."
The nice lady smiled at me, as I told her about how Bobby really needed a good winter coat. I didn't get any change, but she put the coat in a bag, smiled again, and wished me a Merry Christmas.

(Alex and Samantha waiting for Santa )
That evening, Grandma helped me wrap the coat (a little tag fell out of the coat, and Grandma tucked it in her Bible) in Chris tmas paper and ribbons and wrote, "To Bobby, From Santa Claus" on it.
Grandma said that Santa always insisted on secrecy. Then she drove me over to Bobby Decker's house, explaining as we went that I was now and forever officially, one of Santa's helpers.
Grandma parked down the street from Bobby's house, and she and I crept noiselessly and hid in the bushes by his front walk. Then Grandma gave me a nudge. "All right, Santa Claus," she whispered, "get going."

I took a deep breath, dashed for his front door, threw the present down on his step, pounded his door and flew back to the safety of the bushes and Grandma.
Together we waited breathlessly in the darkness for the front door to open. Finally it did, and there stood Bobby.
Fifty years haven't dimmed the thrill of those moments spent shivering, beside my Grandma, in Bobby Decker's bushes. That night, I realized that those awful rumors about Santa Claus were just what Grandma said they were -- ridiculous. Santa was alive and well, and we were on his team.
I still have the Bible, with the coat tag tucked inside: $19.95.
May you always have LOVE to share,
HEALTH to spare and FRIENDS that care...

And may you always believe in the MAGIC of Santa Claus!
AND THE MIRACLE OF JESUS

A new Work in Progress

Found this large Silver plate platter at an estate sale. The silver plate almost all gone, but worth the rescue.
I primed and painted it and used some of my beautiful Bone China Plates, which I cut and nipped into a mosaic, to beautify this platter. I glued the mosaic down onto the platter and is in the process of drying.

The platter will be grouted and sealed and then is ready to be loved again for another 50 years.

I am a "kept" woman

You see, there were a few times when I thought I would lose my mind,

but GOD kept me sane. (Isa. 26:3)

There were times when I thought I could go no longer,

but the LORD kept me moving. (Gen 28:15)

At times, I've wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done me wrong,

but the LORD kept my mouth shut.. (Psa. 13)

Sometimes, I think the money just isn't enough,

but GOD has helped me to keep the lights on, the water on, the car paid, the house paid, etc..,
(Matt. 6:25 -34)

When I thought I would fall, HE kept me up.

When I thought I was weak, HE kept me strong! (I Pet. 5:7, Matt. 11:28-30)

I could go on and on and on, but I'm sure you hear me!

I'm blessed to be ' kept '

I'm "Kept" by the Love and Grace of God

God doesn't give you the people you want, He gives you the people you NEED,...

To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you into the person
you were meant to be.

Peace Be With You Throughout Your Day!

Making a Joyful Noise

Obviously as a singer this is close to my heart. I was raised as a Lutheran.. As a young girl, I learned the most important thing about the Sunday service was sit in the last couple pews and be solemn in worship. Always keep the first four pews open for the altar boys, who sat on either side of the aisle. Stragglers and those visitors that didn’t know not to sit there, got "the look". And most importantly, never, ever under any circumstances look like you might actually enjoy being there-at least not until the service let out and all met outside of the narthex to greet one another. And heaven forbid, if someone from another denomination came in and gave a loud Amen to the pastor’s message.

Yet, we would read in the Bible how the angels filled the sky on that first Christmas Eve with loud praises glorifying God. In the Old Testament, we are told how David danced in the courtyard, glorifying God, much to the chagrin of his wife. (maybe she was an early Lutheran, smile).

Seriously, a lot has changed since my childhood, but as this season is upon us, let’s celebrate as the angel’s did. God has extended his favor unto ALL his church and the joy needs to be shouted from all places on earth, especially in his house of worship.

Come to the front of the church, lift up your voices and tell your neighbors the Good News, on Sunday and every day of the week. Glory to God in the highest. Can I get an Amen?

Luke 2:14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

We are rich beyond measure

In his letters to Timothy, Paul instructs him on the good fight of faith. He tells rich men not to count on their wealth, which is fleeting and uncertain, but rather to set their hope in God. These are words that apply to us today, especially in the climate of an uncertain economy. Many of you, I’m sure, have experienced or known others who have lost their homes and employment. Let’s not forget those who have had their lives ruined in hurricanes and floods. As we recover and build up our wealth, Paul has relevant words for us, even in modern times. “Tell them to use their money to do good. . .” As we approach the Christmas season, we gripe and moan about the Christmas shopping, the crowds, recessions, etc. How easily we forget those who have survived disaster or who are barely surviving the present economy. As Paul writes, we are to “use our money to do good”.

I am also reminded of another Bible story of the widow who gave merely two mites to God. Though it was all she had, God recognized and appreciated her gift above the Pharisee’s large contribution. I don’t think God intends for us to give our last two dollars. It was the widow’s spirit and generosity (and trust in God!) that God recognized. It is the same spirit of giving that God wants from us, whether it be two dollars, two thousand dollars, or even two hours of our time to helping others. Let’s not forget our soldiers still deployed overseas. A Christmas card or small care package would means so much to those who volunteered to risk their lives for their country.
I am very grateful for my baby's
My mother was not exactly a “domestic diva”. She was never one to slave away in the kitchen all day for holiday celebrations. We recognized that God gave her a talent for a profession successful enough to afford catering. My friends always wondered why I loved a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal catered by the local grocery store. It meant Mom wasn’t stressed out. It also gave her time to reflect on her blessings. So, during Thanksgiving and Christmas, she would occasionally volunteer at the local charity soup kitchen, helping to pass out meals and providing those-in-need some nourishment, kindness, and fellowship. She remembered her own parents who were missionaries and how, despite their abject existence in a third-world country, they were able to provide hope and God’s word to tribal natives . . . and still provide for their family of 9 children. Talk about trust!
In these trying times, we may no longer have the money to afford nice Christmas presents or even enough presents for everyone on our list. God, however, shows us that we have enough wealth to spread around, be it our money or our time.

Dear Lord, Thank you for EVERYTHING you have provided for us, especially the gift of Your Son. Forgive our selfishness and ingratitude. With all that you’ve provided for us, open our eyes and our hearts to help those around us.
